Annie Snodgrass (Pitts) has an awful singing voice, but lovestruck gangster boss Fenny (Nat Pendleton) is so entranced by her rendition of a sentimental song about a mother's love that he uses whatever means necessary (including pulling a gun on a critic!) to force the public to accept her as a musical star. Can Annie's eardrum-shattering warblings conquer Broadway?
