Manuel has been living in a youth shelter since his mother went to prison. Now an adult, he leaves the place and is confronted with the trials and tribulations of life. He roams around the Roman suburbs, encountering various kinds of seedy and dubious characters. Despite his unfortunate background, he does his best to grow into a responsible adult and prove to the authorities that he can provide a safe home for his mother once she is released from prison.
