Good movie. Definitely faithful to the series which I used to read as a kid. The story is well thought out and despite the characters looking more real than on any comic book I've read, the story really does look and feel like the books. Good storyline too.

Hmmm maybe you are just too much into the purity of the original context of the comic book. This is what Spielberg saw and I happen to think it was somewhat on point. Making something as expressive would have required they followed one of the original plots which would have been interesting. But they decided a new storyline, with new dialogue and did their best.
"The story really does look and feel like the books." I don't know which books you have but they are not AT ALL like the movie.
Actually a friend of mine put the finger on it. The problem I have is that the movie is called "The secret of the Unicorn". That is why fans will be looking for the book story. It should of been only, The adventures of Tintin. This way you expect a view of Spielberg and not the story of a book. ;)
In that regard you are right. Calling it the secret of the unicorn is misleading. It might have been more honest had they kept an original storyline but they didn't.
