The Strangers

I went into this movie with no expectations whatsoever. And I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a good movie, all things considered. Were there tacky and totally predictable parts in it? Of course there were. Was Liv Tyler's acting the same as it always is? Definitely. She has no acting range. Were there times when the characters did not choose the obvious "safe action" but instead chose the more suspenseful and dangerous approach? But of course... because if they didn't, there wouldn't be any suspense!!! And even with all this, I still give it a 7/10. If you like this kind of suspenseful horror-ish movie, it is worth seeing. And although the trailer does give a lot of the idea behind the story, the movie still manages to surprise with a good opening story. The movie doesn't move fast, but it is very effective in creating a creepy atmosphere. For that reason alone, I give it a good 7/10.
