" La Notte di San Lorenzo " from the acclaimed Taviani brothers is a beautiful film in spite of its subject matter. It won the Jury prize and Cannes and justly so. The film looks at a time when Italy was occupied by Nazis. The rapport to children is special in the movie and the Taviani style of filmmaking upholds this very well. It is not of that neo-realist shcool which the film depicts.
