Joey Brusco, a down on his luck boxer, picks up the New York Times and reads the headline "The Mafia Is Dead." Joey somehow wants to prove that this is not the case. Joey researches how the roots of the mafia began and puts together a plan to start his own mafia based on the old Sicilian principles. Joey convinces his best friend Timmy Gianni to help him begin the journey of starting their own mafia. They partner up with a Las Vegas club owner and build their empire. Greed, sex, deception, murder, and power begin to cloud their judgement and things quickly spiral out of control.
