In his first dramatic role, Danny Kaye is quite good in this biography of jazz trumpeter Red Nichols. Barbara Bel Geddes plays his wife and Louis Armstrong appears as himself. The film features a good score for lovers of jazz. The one problem is that it's too much a formula Hollywood bio-pic.
