    Star Trek: Into Darkness

To boldly go where everyone has gone before - sequel territory. Star Trek: Into Darkness pulls it off but it's not a masterpiece. The plot isn't the weakest I've seen but it's far from complex and has more than a few holes. It's more than a little cliché at times and throws the concepts of rank, command, and honour around like interchangeable punchlines. In that respect, while Abrams' reboot of the franchise is bold and refreshing it's also vastly immature and just doesn't have the moral traction to resonate with the more serious fans. Still, it's an action-packed frolicking romp through the new universe with all the flash and wonder you can expect through the ample lens flare. Worth the price of admission.
