Think of it as Jurassic Park meets Species meets The Fly meets... well, you get the picture! The story is nothing new, but it works. It makes you think about the whole debate on gene manipulation, cloning and splicing. It's a more modern day up-to-date rendition of the classic tale. Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley are very good. The special effects are actually quite impressive given this movie must have had a very modest budget. But more importantly, it kept my attention the whole hour and 44 minutes. Beware the 18A rating, as it is certainly deserving of it due to certain graphic and suggestive scenes. All in all, it's a good movie, worth seeing, and I'm not just saying that because it's Canadian!!!
