Spectre

I was really excited to see Spectre. Skyfall is one of my favourite Bond films and the trailers really hyped me up. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with Spectre, but it is still a very entertaining action film!

The best way to put it is that Spectre is a classier and less compelling version of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. They have extremely similar plots and action sequences. The difference here is that Spectre's plot is not only predictable, but also convoluted and very messy. I predicted every twist the plot took, and there were so many moments in the story that had me groaning.

Daniel Craig is once again excellent as Bond. He's much funnier this time around, and it really works. Léa Seydoux is a great Bond-girl, though her backstory isn't told well. Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naome Harris are all fun as well. Dave Bautista is a total badass and might be one of the most intimidating baddies I've seen in a while.

Christoph Waltz gives an excellent performance, but his role is way smaller than it should be. He's in the film for around ten minutes. I would have loved to see more of his character!

The action in Spectre is its strongest point. Every action scene is beautifully filmed and totally brutal. The opening scene in Mexico City is one of the best of the year! The editing, musical score and cinematography are all incredible as well.

As stated previously, Spectre's main problem is the plot. It is underdeveloped and very predictable. The ending was also very weak and didn't leave me feeling satisfied.

Overall, Spectre is a very good movie, but not a great one. It is technically fantastic, but falls short on plot. It's an ultimately forgettable experience. See it if you're a Bond fan!
