Marlon Brando was his own worst enemy as he directed One-Eyed Jacks. He apparently was difficult to work with; he couldn't keep on budget; and he alienated pretty well all of Hollywood. This said, the western is a fairly good one, but I was not too keen on Brando's mumbling method acting. Karl Malden was a force of nature. With a wonderful supporting cast, the great KATY JURADO and BEN JOHNSON ( soon to be an Oscar Winner) added so much to my enjoyment even though the film is pretty uneven at times due to Brando's inexperience and his uneven temperment.
