Noah has been banned in over five countries because of its controversy. So I guess you could say I was excited to witness Darren Aronofsky's take on his biblical story. Critics are giving this movie pretty decent reviews, where as the people are hating on it for various reasons. Well, I could say that Noah is a fantastic film that does not deserve that hate it's getting at all. The acting is amazing in Noah. Russell Crowe pulls off a believable character as the lead role. Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Jennifer Connelly did excellent jobs. And, even though he was in the movie for approximately ten minutes, Anthony Hopkins stole all of the scenes he was in. The story was well adapted from the torah, with many things added and removed. Unfortunately, this is the primary reason for all of the bad reviews. You must remember, this is a MOVIE that was BASED on the biblical story. It cannot be exactly the same. The things that were added worked well for the story and the things that were taken out seemed to work fine. The special effects and cinematography are stunning and some of the best I've seen in a while. The animals looked amazing and the flood looked believable and quite real. The dream sequences were well done and the "miracles" were very cool. Aronofsky directed this film extremely well and the very long runtime went by very quickly. Noah is an excellent take on the original biblical story with fantastic acting and special effects. See it if you're curious about the movie or enjoy disaster films. RATING: 8.5/10.
