After reading a lot of positive reviews on this site, I went to see this movie last night. The first Iron Man was interesting, witty, impressive. This sequel is a complete disappointment. Those people that have always liked the comic book and many teenagers will enjoy the visually appealing action scenes; but the movie misses on all the other aspects. First of all, the story is really poor, it just doesn’t make any sense, plus there are enough boring moments that I found myself scanning for the exit signs, subconsciously planning an escape. The chemistry between Iron Man and Pepper, that was so spot on in the first movie, is now completely lost, it just doesn’t work. Gwinnet Paltrow wasn’t able to save her performance, but in all fairness, the material she had to work with was terrible. The new characters, Samuel Jackson and Scarlet Johansson didn’t quite fit in. The new villains lack any of the realism that for example Keith Ledger provided in the Black Knight or even Jeff Bridges with his fantastic performance in the first Iron Man. For some, it’s fulfilling enough just to see Iron Man flying around, and I respect that, but realistically speaking, this movie is awful. So the bottom line is, if you don’t care about story line, character development or strong acting, and you enjoy lots of CG and large robots, then go see it.

It's HEATH Ledger... and his performance in the Dark Knight surely requires your respect for his name. That performance will never be duplicated. But at least you can get his name right. Wanna know how I got these scars? As for the storyline, I think that this one had more story than action, compared to the first. Perhaps the reason that you didn't like this version was the director's attempt to set up sequels for the assorted new characters who are taken from the comic book stuff. Overall the movie had a few stories, and all were blended into the mix nicely. So my final question to you is: "Why so Serious? " There's nothing wrong with a little chaos.
