I was way too excited to see Goosebumps. I grew up reading nearly all 90 of the books and I watched the God-awful TV show religiously. The trailers for Goosebumps were terrible, and I had very low expectations for it. Well, I'm very pleased to say that Goosebumps is a really fun adventure for the whole family!
The acting all around is good. Jack Black totally over does it, and he's constantly hilarious. The three main kids were very good as well. I also enjoyed the main story. They found a way to incorporate some of the best Goosebumps monsters into the plot, and it worked very nicely.
The CGI was pretty awful. It seemed like a B-movie at times. Slappy the Dummy was the best looking, because he was practical. The pace is very quick and I didn't get bored once! I also found myself laughing and smiling constantly. Also, I have to give credit to Danny Elfman's awesome musical score.
Overall, Goosebumps is an extremely fun time at the movies! It's funny, heart-warming and quite spooky for the little ones. See it if you read the books or just want to have a fun time.
