So many great stars deliver impeccable performances under the génial directing of William Wyler who was able to adapt novels, plays and the like into truly great films, more than any other director. His 12 Oscar Nominations and 3 Oscar wins are testament to this! Ruth Chatterton is the proverbial b***h in Dodsworth in contrast to Mary Astor who delivers one of her tender, sweet as sugar water GREAT performances so opposite to her bad girl roles!
