Caravaggio's Shadow

Italy 1609. Accused of murder, Caravaggio has fled Rome and taken refuge in Naples. Supported by the powerful Colonna family, Caravaggio attempts to secure the Church's forgiveness to return to Rome. The Pope then decides to have an inquisitor, known as the Shadow, conduct an investigation into the painter whose art is deemed subversive and contrary to the Church's morality.
