This is the story of a young woman torn between two men, and between her family and her ideals. In the early 1900's, the island of Capri became home to revolutionaries and a refuge for new-age free thinkers. Just as Italy finds itself on the brink of a world war, Lucia, a poor goatherd, is fighting her own battle between her family's expectations of her and her desire for freedom. An emotional and dramatic story, this film takes us on a journey through history and self-discovery. As Lucia finds herself caught in a love triangle between the leader of a commune of European artists and the town's young doctor, the identity of the island itself is evolving; a battle between art and science, and between tradition and modernization.
