Elisabeth won a very iffy Oscar (due to her brush with death due to pneumonia) for her sultry portrayal of an expensive call girl who still lives with her mother. The film features some great histrionics and a terrific supporting cast (with the exception of Eddie Fisher) especially from a charmingly slimy Laurence Harvey, mother Mildred Dunnock and Harvey's wife played by Dina Merrill. It's a good old fashioned soap opera with some interesting, campy dialogue. Adult feature.
