All Is Lost is a beautiful film. I'll just say it. It was like a mix of Gravity, Life of Pi and Cast Away all mashed into an incredible cinematic masterpiece. The cinematography was breathtaking, with some scenes under the water. There is barely any dialogue at all. Like, Robert Redford said literally a few sentences throughout an hour and 45 minutes. Speaking about Robert Redford, wow. He was incredible. If he doesn't get a Best Actor nomination, I will go nuts. He held this entire movie, and made it incredibly realistic. We know absolutely nothing about his character. We don't even know his name. I love this fact, because it makes him more relatable. He could be anybody. The story is moving and powerful, targeting the will to live. It has a great pace (I was expecting boredom) and has some incredibly gripping scenes. The best part of this movie is the ending. The ending in All Is Lost is one of the best endings I've ever seen. I won't spoil anything, but wow. OVERALL: All Is Lost is a beautiful and gripping film with incredible acting from Robert Redford and one of the best ending's ever.
