A very bizarre dark 'literary' comedy of sorts in this collision of intermingling passions. Chris Cooper won an Oscar as John Laroche and I was very put off that Meryl Streep did not take the supporting actress Oscar for her tremendous work. She did win the Golden Globe in that category. This is a film that won't appeal to all as is the case with most Spike Jonze features. The very real literary aspect of the film drew me in.
