I could find no flaw with this. I saw it opening day in the afternoon, and will repeat over the weekend. This was not all sapped up with a love triangle, or romance for a change. Hollywood didn't even make the Spartan army all 'diverse' to go with today too sensitive and too politically correct world. The Persian army was just as it should be. Consisting of many Asian & Middle Eastern Nations. The Spartans, just as they should be - proud white honorable warriors. I'm shock this came out of Hollywood. With all the junk films meant only to mush a brain, this was true art. The best to hit theatres in a long time. See this one today!

The movie is worth seeing, although I wouldn't see it again. Everything but the graphics and the picture is hastily done, barely developed. The graphics, costume, effect and everything else though were astounding, unique.

Great movie. A must see. Not necessarily the most realistic fun, but a fun watch nonetheless. Amazing cinematography and acting, despite a fragile plot. The storyline could have been much better, but still definitely worth 2 hours and quite entertaining. Worth the money and the time in line!

It’s an awful movie and full of lies. It shows the Persian army as some monstrous savages. You cannot ignore the historical facts. It’s really disappointing..

I think 300 is a very good movie. I have personnally worked on the special effects of 300, and for those who think they are not nice, well you should know that they wanted it to look that way, just like in the comic book. They have nicely reproduced the Frank Miller's 300 Graphic Novel and to me, this movie is a big success.

Just one thing to say about it... wow! If you like graphic epic movies... this one is just for you. Good acting, good story, amazing effects. Superb. Gerard Butler is amasing. Must see. Best thing since the Matrix..

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
Worst movie I have ever seen. Key theme: Life is worthless. Killing = glory. Common theme in a lot of movies these days, but this one goes the extra mile to bring home the point. Movie starts with selective killing of spartan infants (selective breeding) and quickly gets into teaching small children how to kill. We wonder why violence is on the rise... we must be stupid to wonder.

Great story, great plot, right to business... no messing around... great characters. Great action, lots of gore. Great scenes of camaraderie, loyalty and heart. A must see.

If you can look past the obvious racist undertones this film offers a rare and needed perception of manhood. A battle between the effeminate man and the misogynistic warrior puts to shame our modern metro sexual values and makes a statement at what we've lost. The North-American boy-men cannot but feel inadequate and rightfully so. See it, then go laugh at the next tight-jean, eye-brow groomed girly-man you see.

This is not a movie about the battle of Thermopylae. There is very little historical accuracy at all... So what! This movie brings Frank Millers graphic novel alive! Beautifully filmed with little storyline and lots of action... exactly what it's supposed to be. Look for nothing else... but hang on for the ride. After I left the theatre I felt as tired as if I had participated in the battle myself. I left completely satisfied and quite willing to pay another $10.00 to see it again tomorrow. As for the politics... Persians, Greeks... who cares... See the film!!!

Did I go to see a drama? Did I want well rounded characters and witty dialogue? NO!!! I went to see kick ass special effects fights, ultra violence blood guts and testosterone adrenaline. There lots of that!!!

The battle scenes and graphics never failed to amaze/entertain me. It's very creative and well made. The sound at times was awesome as well. This isn't a film where you can read reviews and form an opinion. You have to watch it and you will either like it or find it somewhat boring. Overall I personally found it to be a very interesting movie and I'd say it's a must see in theaters for the people who will see it. The ONLY part that nobody can deny is that the battle scenes were truly amazing.

The special effects were mind blowing! This had to be one of the best movies of the year! Some people did not like this movie because it did not build on the characters... THAT WAS NOT THE POINT OF THE MOVIE!!! The movie was tell ing the tail of sparta! Not one king or queen. You have to see that even in everyones death, sparta grew to the challange and became one of the greatest forces ever. If you like movies with main characters that have big plots, don't bother seeing this movie and DO NOT rate this movie because your oppinon will be a bias one! This is an over all good movie worth seeing but if you have low tollerance to blood and sex don't see it you will not like it!

Excellent movie! I think we all can relate to the themes of the few against the many and sacrifice for the common good. I would like to see more movies like this one. I will definitely see it again and buy the DVD.

Awesome film. It's got it all: great battle scenes, epic slaughters, a cool boss fight and some vicious bad guys. King Leonidas is a great hero in this flick and some of his lines will no doubt be echoed by moviegoers for years to come. Finally a movie filmed in Montreal that doesn't suck! Highly recommended.

This movie is absolutely amazing. Every part of it is truly inspiring. Do not listen to the people who gave it less than a 9/10 for they are truly idiots and don't appreciate a well made movie. - Hosay.

I would actually give it an 8.5, but thats not an option here. Anyways, it was a really good movie, as long as you dont go in expecting some deep storyline filled with suspense and intrigue. This is an action flick, full of blood and violence at all the right times. Cinematography was insane, action scenes are intense, color and music are beautiful. A must see if you are looking for something along the lines of Sin City with color, less story and more action.

Frank Miller's 300 is an over the top classic. Also, you don't get to see a defense of western man, his values, and his culture too often.

The visuals were the only thing worth seeing it for. The story could have been much better played out and the extra scenes they had... were just too much. It's not bad, but it could be much better.

Without a doubt one of the best movies I have seen since Lord of the Rings... if you are in to that king of thing. Yes, near naked men, buff and fighting for their king and queen and freedom... nice story... but what brings it all together for me is the RAW-ness. From the wolf at the beginning, the slow-motion flying through the air stabbing... while filthy muscles take form, to the silent LOVE that is shared throughout the film. I watch Lord of the Rings over and over... and this film will be added to my collection... WOW... I will add that being 33 and a mother of three young children... this movie put me back on track for what it is to fight for, live for and die for...

Absolutely phenomenal!!! Great special effects. Great acting by no-name actors. Just as it was starting to be a little exaggerated, it became more realistic. Great timing. A must see movie even if very violent and quite graphic.
