Another triumph from writer/director Christopher Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins) This film, taking place in Victorian England, is a atmospheric story about obsession, rivalry, illusion, and science fiction. Involving flashbacks, it is confusing at times, but the suspense builds to a powerful and surprising climax at the end.
