EXCELLENT MOVIE... just be careful there is a lot of blood in this movie.

A movie that had to be made to show, in a tasteful and fun way, history that should not be ignored by younger people. Lots of laughs but yet inventive shooting and editing shows the true debasement and depths of evil without showing the details of atrocities. A package of "Lincoln"," Django Unchained", and "42" would do good service for a year of history discussion in high schools.

Absolutely loved this movie... great acting by Jamie Fox, Christopher Waltz & Leonardo DiCaprio... a movie you can see again & again... would thoroughly recommend it.

Best movie we've seen all year...

Enjoyable totally unrealistic movie. Tarantino is good but not showing the depth he showed in Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction. Fox's acting very cool.

What a nice original duster. The scenario and the text are excellent. Play acting too. One negative comment, the ending. Why not end the movie where you will know who shoots the other guy, and have Django somehow just run away with the loved one. The made prisoner and come back ending with Rambo style explosions was clearly unnecessary.

The story line is good and the actors are good too. However, The level of brutality is so normal in Tarantino's films and I think It's not a good thing.

Great scenery, loved the music, special affects were great except for what they were used for. The story line was great --BUT--it is discouraging to watch because of so much senseless, overdone pointless violence. No wonder our culture is getting so insensitive with folks generating this kind on nonsense. Walked out half way through.

This is the movie of the year. It has lots of violence but this is expected when you consider who the producer is. I would believe that this movie will be a cult movie.

Classic Tarantino. Acting great. Good story, awesome finale. Good music score as well.

Excellent movie!! A must see movie.

This movie started out great, largely due to the incredible efforts of Christoph Waltz. His character and performance are the only saving graces of this film, which is otherwise just a hot mess. It kept my attention for about half the film but then it takes a serious turn for the worse and delves into the typical Tarantino nonsense. It becomes nonsensical and inconsistent. Character development ceases, the already plodding plot grinds to a halt, and it gets replaced with the standard over-the-top lunacy characteristic of every Tarantino film. In the end we're left with an anti-hero who has made some very questionable decisions in his effort to free his wife from the harsh cruelty of slavery. The two ideologies don't mix and the theme is completely lost.

It's brilliant in script, casting and directing, Tarantino is a genius, no doubt, never seen anything like this. He should however stick to directing, an actor in his dreams maybe... The gore is absolutely overdone, enough already, but if you can look away when it's about that, the movie is something amazingly unique to see. The cast, way down to the most insignificant role, played flawlessly, save for Quentin but you already know that. DiCaprio is my main man, he can do no wrong in my eyes, so trash away all you want, I have my fingers in my ears and my hands over my eyes. I am just amazed at the fact that he looks like such an angel and can access the dark side so skillfully and brilliantly. A true acting phenom of our time. You should think about seeing this movie. Enjoy our Spring everyone!

Great movie, well done. All the actors are committed to the roles and a movie to see several times over!!!

Too bad Quentin doesn't grow up. He was such a promising child prodigy. This film is not worth seeing, unless you relish gratuitous violence.

Awesome! Jamie, Leo, Chris were terrific. Not bad for Quentin. Would see again.

What can one say, the back-lot spaghetti duster, with a Tarantino treatment. Florid red titles the first hint! High brow morality message delivered with a low brow punch, like a Samurai flic. Jamie Foxx puts in a worthy effort, but Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson high point the performances. DiCaprio a predictable casting decision, doesn't mail it in, quite. He's done better. This is a retribution piece, as all Tarantino films are, lately it's the choice of the era's ultimate weapon that differentiates them. Still a neat trick not to make a movie this length feel like a crawl, and this flows pretty well. Yes, the Q. T. cameo (hardly that) is the weak point. I'd see it again, but in a fair while.

Tarantino has done it again! Well directed, well acted, and well written! Some scenes were laughably exaggerated with explosive murders, but I wouldn't change a thing! One of the best from Tarantino I've seen in recent years.

Tarantino is trash. Trashatino is more like it. [...] The level of brutality is so normal in his films that people are applauding that they aren't desensitized enough now, thankfully they say, and that the gore in this film was able to scare them again, make them feel! Awful. A crashing culture and civilization is ruled by rotten stuff like this. I feel sorry for Jamie Foxx, he's such a good actor and actually put in a OK performance (he gets all 3 of my points), but to take slavery and slash history to pieces like this, and to repeat the hatred of Inglorious Basterds once again, does major destruction to anyone who wants to be well read, hopeful, and to try to direct ourselves out of the mess we are in. Tarantino wouldn't direct traffic in a healthy society.

Amazing scenery and cool outfits.

Good story, good acting. Gory bloody scenes were acceptable as part of the pre civil war era. Recommend to those who like a little bit of history.

Amazing line-up! Tarantino's repertoire is so fantastic, I was worried he wouldn't be able to play at his usual level, but I was wrong. The movie was amazing; the plot intricately woven; the humour eccentric; and the acting out of this world. There were some pretty disgusting scenes but I do nothing but commend Tarantino for going with it- after all, violence does and has existed in our world, why cover it up. I'd watch this again in the theatre for sure!

Tarantino just getting better and better.

We were expecting scenes of gratuitous violence and Quentin did not disappoint in this regard... some stuff was hard to watch, I had to look away, but overall I'd say don't miss it.

Fantastic movie. I am glad that I am not as desensitized to violence as I was worried I had become. There were 2-3 scenes in the film that I found really unsettling. Tarantino did not pull any punches with this one. It makes Kill Bill almost seem cartoonish and for kids (in terms of violence) Waltz is brilliant in a supporting role and I am now happy he won the Oscar (even though I had bet on Tommy Lee) He brought some much needed humanity to a bunch of really difficult scenes. I definitely wish there were more scenes like the humour-filled kkk one. That was just pure genius and MAN did we ever need to laugh once or twice to take the edge off. I don't understand people that are saying this is a good popcorn flick. Avengers is a good popcorn flick. I had bought some Peanut Butter M&Ms for enjoy while watching Django and could not get through them since I felt so sick from the insane violence. Cautiously recommended (not for your moms)

I thought it was gonna be another strange Quentin movie but actually this one was pretty good. Totally enjoyed it. Def worth seeing.
