Too slow, too thoughtful, too much "frame for frame" shots... so the story-telling becomes weaker...

A very different romance that is beautifully shot and edited. I can see where some people might think it was on the pretentious side, but it really worked for me. All of the young leads are very good as well.

Slow but thoughtful film with above average acting and lovely if somewhat quirky cinematography.

I am a huge Haruki Murakami fan so I was afraid the film would not live up to my hopes and expectations. This is easily the best film I've seen in the last 5 years. Beautifully shot, acted. It is worth seeing for the soundtrack alone. Murakami has never let anyone have film rights. But I can see why he was finally won over when he was approached by the Oscar nominated Vietnamese filmmaker who also did Scent of a Green Papaya. The other reviewers mention the film is weird and long. That's true. It's weirdly long and I wished it would never end. I'll go back to see it a second time.

This is a long, depressing, sad, wierd, unrealistic and nonesense movie ever. I found the story and the conversation so strange, as if the actors were all on drugs.

Definitely not for all to see, quite long and dragged out, but a great cast.
