I felt overall that this remake fell short. Jackie Chan's acting was fine but there were an assortment of scenes in the movie that were incomplete or not needed. The bullies were good but didn't bully enough. This movie did not enrich or develop the assorted characters enough. The "girl friend" was a waste of time. We learn late in the movie about Jackie Chan's tragedies... but these did not add to the plot. Some of the scenes from China's Great Wall or mountainous areas could have been explored more as settings for scenes. The tournament fight scenes were better in the original... Wax On Wax Off was better in the original. Will Smith's kid was ok but he did not garner any sympathy from me as I found him to be a spoiled kids who wouldn't hang up his coat... and whined about wanting to go back to America... who threw garbage on people and then ran away... I was just disappointed, especially after seeing the higher scores on this site.
