I really liked this movie. The fact that he was pasted into important parts in history was a very cool aspect to this already amazing movie. Its inspirational and has a lot of symbolism and such. I especialy loved the John Lennon part, because he is my hero. Go buy this movie immediatly!!

When thinking of Forrest Gump, the first thing that comes to mind is his innocence. Next comes faithfulness, and probably after that would just be his want to please everyone around him. This movie is a masterpiece beyond anything before it. There are those great movies, like pearl harbour, Back to the Future, Dumb and Dumber (laugh every time) but a movie you will never forget, is Forrest Gump. From his signature, Hi, I'm Forrest, Forrest Gump, to his undieing love for Jenny, this movie is a compelling tale of luck and good things happening to good people. It will make you laugh, it may even make you cry. But afer its done, you are moved in whichever way it took you, and the experience is never forgotten. I would say its one of Hanks best films, along with, You got Mail, Sleepless in Seatle, Turner and Hooch, and many, many more. If your looking for a movie with a good plot line, good music, and not full of todays rapsters or new age crappy music. You've found it here, this movie is perfect from beginning to end.

Forrest Gump, unforgettable and stays in the heart... Can't deny this work of masterpiece. I can still remember the 1st time I saw it 10 years ago, and as I did again. Same conclusion, unforgettable.

"Mom always said life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna get." FORREST GUMP is one of the most unforgettable I have ever seen. Director Robert Zemeckis marked his place in Hollywood with the hugely popular Back to the Future trilogy. Tom Hanks climbed the ladder of success starring in comedy movies like Splash and Turner and Hooch in the 1980's, but hadn't had critical success until 1993 when he starred in Philadelphia with Denzel Washington, which won him his first oscar for Best Actor. The movie also features outstanding proformances from little known actors Gary Sinise (Apollo 13, Ransom, Deception), Mykelti Williamson (Heat, Con Air, Three Kings, Ali) and Robin Wright-Penn, credited as Robin Wright, (Unbeakable) FORREST GUMP starts off with the title character (Hanks) sitting on a bench waiting for a bus when a young woman comes and sits next to him. Here he starts his story by remembering his first pair of shoes, which in the film are leg braces. Forrest tells us how he met his life-long friend Jenny (Wright-Penn), how he surved in the Vietnam war and how he spent years running for absolutely no reason. Hanks plays Forrest Gump in a way that makes us feel what the character is feeling so most that we develop a sort of relationship with him. Gary Sinise has an excellent proformance as Lt. Dan Taylor who hates Gump because he saved him in Vietnam because he believes that he should of died on the battle feild but late becomes his friend, and who says that Sinise can only play bad guys? Robin Wright-Penn handles Jenny's drug addiction and the scene were she tries to commit suicide brilliantly. Mykelti Williamson plays the part of Forrest's friend 'Bubba' Blue, whom he meets in the army, excellently considering that this is the movie where he gets the most screen time that his ever had in the movies that I've ever seen him in. Sally Feild (Mrs Doutfire, Homeward Bound, Homeward Bound 2: Lost in San Fansico, Legally Blonde 2:Red White and Blonde) plays the part of Forrest's devoted mother very well. The little boy who in years to come would rise to fame, Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense, Pay it Forward, A.I. ), make an appearance as Forrest Gump Jr... Haley, Mr. Simonet (played by Kevin Spacey in Pay it Forward) would be proud. This was one of the best movie's of 1994, others included Pulp Fiction and Speed.

I don't think so if there is two persons who felt like I did! People has different manners and differnt talents too. That makes sure, Forrest is one of the world's greatest actors. Believe or not, tha's right. When the movie began I thought maybe that was just a simple movie which is full of foolish stories. But at last I have descovered one thing very important that I wish you too... Never ignore anything... take a good time and watch this movie. You'll see. Tom Hanks, you still make defference.
| 8/10 | mikebafo@ - first review 11.2.2004 - age: 13-17 |
One thing Forrest gump says is "That was the happiest day of my life". When I hear this what I gather is not a thought of a idiot but a man who is satisfied with life. He was happy because he asked for so little. When there is high expectations and little oppertunities in the life, people do not end up meeting the wisest decisions. Best example would be Jenny. We see gump as a stupid idiot, in other words a low iq person. Yes gump was stupid, gump was isdiotic, gump was simple, but gump succeeded where others failed. So is gump the IDIOT?

It brings tears of sadness and tears of joy. Tom Hanks plays an excellent role, and Gary Sinise and Sally Field just top it off. It's a must see for anyone of any age.

"Hello I'm Forrest, Forrest Gump". right from that opening line I knew this movie would have me wrapped from beginning to end. This is the tale about the life of a totally innocent boy, who through the moral words from his mother and differnet people around him, take every second of life as if its his last. Through running like the wind, Vietnam and losing the ones he loves, Forrest never frowned, always taking it one step at a time. Tom Hanks was EXCELLENT in this film, and well deserved his Best Actor Academy Award. This movie will have you shead a tear, but will garrentee you feeling fresh and positive when it ends! BRILLIANT BRILLIANT!

Forresst Gump is a kind of life lesson movie. It makes you realize that you do not have to be a genious to recieve the best things out of life. By going for all the opprtunites out there, you can acheive many things.
