This is a very good movie. The acting was superb. This kid, Tyler Hoechlin is fantastic. Tom Hanks is excellent. If my memory serves me correct this is perhaps the first time we see him with a hard edge to his character, and he does a good job. There are a couple of moving moments with his son when the Forrest/Castaway/Sleepless character makes a cameo. However, don't let this throw you, overall the O'Sullivan character is riveting. Jude Law was very subtle in this film. So if you don't like him, he won't get in the way of you appreciating it. The cinematography was excellent. At points you feel like you are going throw a photo album from the thirties. If there is one negative to this movie it would be the predictability (is that a word?) of the plot. So I recommend that you don't worry too much about where the story is going, just enjoy the ride. (Don't expect a god-father type of movie, just enjoy it for what it is).
