I read the book and this was better, mainly because the book was retarded with a retarded ending that made no sense. In the movie, the ending was more believable. As well, the acting was great; Hopkins was his usual great self, and the kid, Anton Yelchin, was a terrific little actor. You know, there are so many good child actors out there, it makes me wonder how in the name of all that is holy did George Lucas settle for such an unnatural twerp as Jake Lloyd? Jar Jar didn't ruin Phantom Menace; if anyone did, it was the kid. Anyways, I ramble. Hearts in Atlantis, good flick, cute, entertaining, touching, I dug it.
