I read the book before I saw the movie and made the mistake of thinking it would be at all similar too the book and was tremendously dissapointed. Everything was different from the book, from the name to the story, the only resemblance was that it took place in india. With what they did it was ok, but I can only compare it to the book. If you liked the movie, don't read the book.
