If you can sort through all the gamer's reviews you might get a good idea of what you are in for. I have never played the game and therefore know nothing about how the movie relates to the game. This movie is very good in terms of the animation and I didn't find the story that confusing. There were points that the film becomes very real and you forget what you are watching. However it is not real enough for you to buy into the characters. The emotional scenes were pretty crappy. I also thought the film could have been scarier, but they didn't exploit this possibility. This is a fairy tale and is to be seen as such. I also think that the actors chosen for the voices were not that good. Buschemi is as annoying as usual and Alec Baldwin stinks as the G. I. Joe stud. If this was done with real actors in real action then I would give it a 6, but the animation gets it a 7.
