I always imagined Lord of the Rings to be a dark metaphor for the horrors and downfalls of society with the central symbol of the ring of dark forces, power and control well, you don't have to be a genius to go there... I wrote a paper, but nowadays I just think it a tasty little movie (love the books, was amazed after all the years I even remembered the rhyme). Well acted, cool effects and a fantastic cast. Of course, it's a timeless story of the struggle between good & evil as well as the countless flaws that make us humans (for those who are... er, like me, of course) & other creatures that roam the Earth true heroes in the end as long as we do what is right and follow our hearts. Sigh. How inspiring. Can't wait for the other two installments.
