The Reader deserves to be nominated for best picture of the year and it is. This is a great story of raw love. The complex character that Kate Winslett handles, she does with ease. Her character is mysterious and yet we understand her need and in her need attempts to control. She gives in needing the young boy in more ways than one. Her need to hear great literature read to her by her teenage friend should never be overshadowed by the raw sexual energy that this movie exudes. This movie will always sit as a tremendous accomplishment in film making for me.
