Denis Lehane's book is my favorite of all time. I had big expectations about the movie but since it was supposed to come out in October but was dragged until february... I got worried. A Scorsese movie that come out in february must be really bad right? (Since that means that it cannot qualify for the awards season) Actually it's not bad at all. The trouble is that Lehane's story is so great that there's no way the movie can be bad. On the other hand, this is certainly not the best Scorsese could make out of the book! That's the problem I have with the movie. If it was made by an other director, I would say this is great! But since I know what Scorsese is capable of, I can't help but see a lot of flaws that would not normally bother me. Overall, I enjoyed the movie, even thought I knew everything that was about to happen, but it's not as good as what Martin Scorsese usually does.
