This movie would have seemed pretty cool and edgy 20 years ago... now the themes and plot devices seem dated and cliche, and the dialogue borders on the ridiculous. However the action and acting was pretty good, and if you can overlook the writing, it's a decent yarn. I could see sequels being made... another Dirty Harry phenom? The Miami Vice movie with Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell worked better for me...
