I don't know what everyone saw in this movie, I honestly think it's one of the worst along with Last Stand, it was just stupid, the whole concept of it was dumb to me. And there were tons of plot holes and I don't know just wasn't my favourite X-men movie.
| 6/10 | jer_duarte@ - 96 reviews 5.7.2012 - age: 18-25 |
I may be a sucker for origins movies, but I think this competes with X-men 2 for the top spot of the franchise. Overall the acting was better by almost all of the cast and it was fun to see the interplay between Wolverine and Sabertooth (although it would have been nice to see a lead up to Sabertooth's eventually transformation) to the character in the first movie.

This movie did explain many things and was alright. After seeing all those action you just cannot compare it. I really enjoyed it and I believe you would too, so go see it.

I had a big problem with this movie because of the Special Effects. In this day and age when effects are so amazing, I was very disappointed to see a movie that felt rushed. At one point, when Wolverine is in the farmhouse looking at these new claws, you can actually see them moving apart from his hands. He turns his hands and the claws don't move. It's painfully obvious. When something like that happens, it really pulls you out of the movie. The story line was interesting, I just couldn't get back into it with the effects so poor. Although, when the claws were just bone, they looked really good. Just not when they were steel, so I don't know what happened in the Editing room.

I did not know what to expect at first but it was good movie all way around and had some good action parts in it.
| 7/10 | balnesjw@ - 93 reviews 24.3.2010 - age: 26-35 |
Thought it was a little stale but picked up, then really got into it when you started seeing the links with all the other characters.

I loved this movie! It explained so much about Wolverine AND was visually appealing...
| 9/10 | nuclear_rikku@ - 20 reviews 2.9.2009 - age: 26-35 |
This movie was better than I expected. I didn't like any of the previous X-Men movies, but this one had a good story, good special effects, good acting and a fantastic setting in the Canadian Rockies. I would recommend it.

I have always liked the x-men comics when I was young and I have enjoyed the x-men movies. This one is no exception. Wolverine is a thrill ride you will enjoy.

This movie is fantastic I can't imagine a better way to show us Wolverine's origin. The acting is great, the action and comedy are well timed. And the casting is perfect Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool is fantastic and I heard he is getting his own movie soon Deadpool that is played by Ryan Reynolds again. But getting back to this movie Hugh Jackman gives us a phenomenal performance as Wolverine for a fourth time excellent in terms of acting, action, comedy, and plot.

Personally this was my favorite of all the X-Men movies to date. While it may take too many liberties for die-hard Wolverine fans, it is still a thoroughly entertaining movie and a really fun ride. Great casting of Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth.

My wife and I both loved this movie. Much better than the last X-Men movie.

The movie was sorta good. But the part I didn't get when he had the metal all inside his body how exactly could they decapitate him.
| 7/10 | flemnathan@ - 2 reviews 9.8.2009 - age: 1-12 |
It was alright, I suppose... The action was good, but the characters didn't seem to be right. Wolverine was much too openly soft-hearted, and everything was very cheesy. Also, nothing was very true to Wolverine's past.
| 7/10 | jellybean@ - 32 reviews 9.8.2009 - age: 18-25 |
I really enjoyed this movie; it had action, adventure, comedy, romance and surprisingly a great deal of varied emotion. Highly recommended!
| 8/10 | colinbeth@ - 43 reviews 7.8.2009 - age: 36-49 |
Not a fan of prequels and sequels and this just didn't really do it for me. Great effects and its nice to know a bit of the history... but it seemed like they only covered a bit of history and then added a handful of fight scene et to please people.

Good movie. A lot of fighting and action though. I had to cover my eyes at some parts like when he puts those needles all through his body I though that was pretty gross. But the moral of the story was phenomonal!!

| 8/10 | jejs19@ - 42 reviews 28.7.2009 - age: 13-17 |
Loved the panoramic shots of mountains and wilderness worth going to a big screen for the scenery an to get the effects in the action shots - Wolverine claims to be Canadian! Definitely a best in theater experience.
| 9/10 | cuming87@ - 20 reviews 26.7.2009 - age: 50+ |
This movie has all the elements needed to make a good comic book movie.

| 10/10 | harisshahid@ - 8 reviews 15.7.2009 - age: 1-12 |
Wolverine was a great movie and I'll definitely be adding it to my movie collection, but I must say I was expecting more from it. It just didn't have that flare in it to get my blood pumping.
| 8/10 | jqhn.quest1@ - 11 reviews 12.7.2009 - age: 18-25 |
This movie was by far the best of all the X-Men movies out there, a really good background look at Wolverine, one of the series most interesting and physically captivating characters!
| 10/10 | yeee.wolverine@ - first review 10.7.2009 - age: 18-25 |
Better then I thought it would be, but not good enough. Fox should stop making superhero movies if this is the best they can do. They changed to many things to mention , but the worst thing Fox did was cheap out on the CGI. How can they make a blockbuster movie with some of the weakest special effects every seen. All in all they didn't butcher it but it's far from good. An OK movie that can wait for a rental to see.

If you like comic books and X-men, you'd like it. I liked the other X-men movies better though. If you want a movie for action and entertainment, you'd like it. Def. an origins of Wolverine movie letting the viewer know how it's all pieced together if you're not a big reader.
| 9/10 | theemailoftracey@ - 8 reviews 7.7.2009 - age: 36-49 |
I liked it. It had a few slow moments and there was one gratuitous fight scene that didn't make much sense but otherwise it was good. Much better than X-Men 3 but not as good as X-Men 1 or 2.
| 7/10 | parker_2@ - 299 reviews 7.7.2009 - age: 36-49 |
It was a super awesome movie! At first I thought I would freak out while I was watching it but the movie had enough balance of action and script to even everything out. Only bad part, a little bit confusing at parts...

Everything went wrong with the film the moment that Logan left his Weapon X squad. This is a terrible film that houses bad CGI, a horribly stupid storyline, and some bad action and performances. Wolverine can never be killed so why make a film about an immortal who will always, per se, triumph? This is an insultingly dumb film.

This movie was very good. It had almost non-stop action and many fighting scenes. Many people would say that this movie is most likely to suck due to the fact that it's based on Marvel superheros, but the movie is targeted more for older viewers. I don't know why they had to add the part where it showed Logan's butt... I mean it's not like they will lose money if they don't show it. Anyways, my final statement is - IT ROCKS. I suggest you see this movie.

Crap. Pure crap. Absolutely God awful. I can appreciate the fact that Hollywood is bereft of original ideas that they want to go back to their money makers and milk them for all they're worth, but for Heaven's sake fellas, put some effort into the story! Why is it that all mutants are largely indestructible? Wolverine can't power his way out of a paper bag!

I love this movie!!! I know some would look at it as "just another comic book movie", but I don't, as it doesn't come across as that. Rather, it comes across more as a very beautifully laid out character study, sowing someone who has been in an extreme amount in his lifetime (that being the title character of Wolverine) and showing that, in the beginning, he was a human being put through some crazy life experiences, with a good heart and a moral standing that would rival those of anyone who is considered "normal". It's a beautiful film which just happens to be based on a comic book, and keeps the human element and human frailities at the forefront. And seriously, I hope it's playing in Winnipeg again soon because it's one I wouldn't mind seeing a third, fourth, fifth, sixth time on the big screen before it goes to DVD!
