One of the worst sequels to date. Michael Bay needs to be banned from making movies. I liked the first Transformers but this was a complete joke and waste of time. Don't even get me started on the non-existent acting talent.

Didn't like as much as the first one. Although it was still a good movie altogether!
| 8/10 | sollymander24@ - 66 reviews 3.4.2013 - age: 1-12 |
I liked this one better than the first one. Why? More action, his parents know about Bumblebee, and they kept same actors and director!
| 8/10 | lance.g2012@ - 45 reviews 31.12.2012 - age: 13-17 |
Very poorly acted and made. I liked the first one but this one just sucked.
| 1/10 | erick_87_542@ - 102 reviews 5.4.2012 - age: 18-25 |
It's obvious that nobody involved in the making of this movie was actually trying to make it worth our time.
| 1/10 | brendonknowsall@ - 23 reviews 23.3.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Action is on reel and Megan Fox is SO HOT the fighting scenes are awesome and the story is easy to follow. Better than the original by far and there are a few funny parts as well.
| 10/10 | chrispinnington@ - 16 reviews 31.1.2012 - age: 18-25 |
Loved it and the way it picked up from the last one. Loved the humor and the actions scenes.
| 8/10 | shazjoao@ - 1723 reviews 31.10.2011 |
The worst Transformers movie, but it is still a good movie, you know what I mean, right (this is where you reply)?!
| 8/10 | connorhw1@ - 410 reviews 30.10.2011 |
Painful to watch. The humour is juvenile and unbecoming of the Transformers. There are so many useless scenes with the military just posing and looking tough yet they're pretty much the useless the entire movie. The robots are sort of blend into one another during fight scenes and it's difficult to tell who's doing what unless you see someone blow up or have their head blown off. Movie drags on and could have easily had one hour chopped off of the running time without any lapse in the story. Do yourself a favour, skip it, get a copy of the original cartoon series and watch that.
| 3/10 | parker_2@ - 295 reviews 3.9.2011 - age: 36-49 |
Note to Michael Bay : remember to include a plot to your movie! I'm sorry, but a few decepticons chilling with some hunters in the opening scene and a 30 seconds story-telling isn't near enough the definition of "synopsis".
| 2/10 | rocafrank@ - 27 reviews 15.7.2011 - age: 18-25 |
Bake a cake with different icing it'll still taste the same? Not this time. A far reach to redefine the synopsis without borrowing from the original screenplay. The new characters didn't jive as well as the new robots. Though the action was fantastic, where did the chemistry go? Now a young man in secondary schooling he's been enhanced with a computer code in his DNA that the enemy needs. When the film could have focused on him and his car Bumble Bee, the director chooses to showcase the girlfriend and another girl as a summer sex symbol. Divided with poor humor and exaggerated action, this sequel is an epic fail.
| 5/10 | movie.dude@ - 36 reviews 25.6.2011 - age: 18-25 |
The CGI and storyline was just as compelling as the first movie but alot of the characters and dialogue seemed low brow, especially from the two mini transformers.
| 7/10 | nathan_lust@ - 46 reviews 20.6.2011 - age: 18-25 |
I bet everyone this was going to win the Razzi for worst movie of the year and it did. Transformers 2 can flash the dash, excite us all, and blow us away with special effects. But was it really does is show how bad Michael Bay is at making movies. He's making millions of dollars because his movies always come out early July, and are big IMAX features that are advertised way too much. Everyone has to see it, and this guy is making more money than Christopher Nolan just because he can blow us aways with action, but doesn't know how to even make a good film. Machines flying everywhere, Shia LaBeouf screaming all the time, and Megan Fox's ass sticking out at us, Transformers 2 delivers nothing but the action. Which is nothing.
| 2/10 | christensonj_filmcritic@ - 96 reviews 18.5.2011 - age: 13-17 |
I guaranteed my sister this would win the Razzi for worst film, and it did. I'm not even going to explain how bad this movie is because I explained it all in the review I gave Transformers 1. This is worse than Transformers 1. An absolute catastophe.
| 1/10 | jaystar73@ - 26 reviews 17.3.2011 - age: 13-17 |
This movie is excellent because it ties into the first movie really well. If you haven't seen transformers 1 then I recommend u not see this movie. Also, the special effects are AMAZING! This movie is a MUST SEE!
| 10/10 | jiexi182@ - 3 reviews 26.12.2010 - age: 1-12 |
Really, this is a terrible movie. But I came into this movie excepting that it is robot aliens which can change into man made machines battling for our planet, so I was entertained. Dont go to this movie for cinematic art, go if you're bored and want to see some robot action.
| 6/10 | powhound1080@ - 36 reviews 3.4.2010 - age: 18-25 |
I think I rated this movie a 10 in the past but I saw it again and realized that it was a pretty weak movie for acting script etc. Action and special affects good but everything else wasnt really worth watching.

This is one of the worst movies ever made. It does everything for a buck and is full of constant quick-fix gratification for the over stimulated. In other words it caters to teenagers. You got Megan Fox's tush to stare at and if that's not enough, they throw in a blonde who is even sluttier but ends up being a hyper-advanced Decepticon. I'm sorry but if they were able to do that, they would. And the humans wouldn't stand a chance. Why am I even arguing this? The plot is full of holes. Sure, sequels have always been about getting a few extra bucks out of the public who enjoyed the original, but this is definitely the greatest shift I have ever seen. Why is Optimus killing a massive bad guy in the opening scene then getting pummeled by little robots later on? Why do the good guys have colors but the bad guys are all bare metal? Why do decepticons have pointy teeth? Why do they have any teeth at all? And don't get me started on the dumb & dumber crack bots. They're like Jar Jar Binks -some marketing genius' bright idea. It was absolutely painful to watch this movie no matter how much Megan Fox there is because she can't act. The best part was the scene with Rainn Wilson playing the professor but it only lasted about 3 minutes. That's it. So sad...
| 1/10 | nanolovesjesus@ - 77 reviews 19.12.2009 - age: 26-35 |
I watched it in IMAX experience which I felt it had to much going on to focus on everything at once. I was very excited about this movie, but I was actually kind of disappointed due to the fact that they drag the movie on for too long, kind of got annoying... But no doubt, great special effects once again and great acting.

| 9/10 | coolmanmeet@ - first review 8.11.2009 - age: 1-12 |
The problem with the Transformers franchise is that the first movie was too perfect. So anything that comes after the first movie will pale in comparison. Transformers 2 is its first victim. This one tries way too hard to be funny. The two twin Transformer cars are way too cliche and annoying. The one liners they come up with were popular in the 90's... not in 2009. Megan Fox is pure eye candy in this film, nothing more. And at some points, there is way too much action going on and its hard to tell which is an Autobot and which is a Decepticon. Now the good, Sam's college room mate is really funny... funnier than Sam. I also like the Sector 7 character in this movie (his name escapes me right now) In closing, they tried way too hard to be better then the first, which is an impossible thing to do. Hopefully the 3rd one will go back to being a cool, kick ass, action packed, top notch movie... hopefully.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Even at just $2 it was not worth it. Poor plot, poor acting, poor dialogue. Ludicrous storylines: mom eating hash brownie on the first day of classes, hiding from a killer robot by running into a library, bad guys forgetting about the robot looking for a sliver but finding and kidnapping parents, etc., etc., etc. So many 2 dimensional characters, even for a cartoon moive. The NSA advisor, the twins, the web master. No imigination, no thought put into this 2 and a half hour mess. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

If you are 1-12 years old or brain dead you might like this movie, otherwise stay away from it. If you download movies don't waste our bandwidth! I was really hoping for something good, the first one was pretty good this was just silly and stupid, not in a good way.

I think I stopped having faith in Michael Bay two years ago, when I saw Transformers. I wonder why it took me so long, after all the man is responsible for such disastrous movies as Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys II, but I thought, maybe if he stays away from Jerry Bruckheimer things would be different. He almost proved me right with The Island which wasnt great, nor good, but it wasnt that bad either. Two years later, he is back with another Transfomers flick, his baby, and I went expecting to hate it. He proved me right for good this time. The first one wasnt that good, but it was almost kind of fun, even with all the unfunny humor and the preposterous plot. Just take the first one and multiply it by ten. Its ten times unfunnier and ten times more ridiculously plotted. Robots come from all over the place and we have no rights to ask how they appeared there, its even hard to differentiate them, especially when they fight. They have personalities and they can speak. Man I wish they were all broken like Bumblebee. Megan Fox cant act, and she's not even hot in my book, she looks plastic. Shia LaBeouf is slowly running out of charisma, repeating himself again and again and... oh well, lets not waste time talking about the acting. Its bad, just like everything else in the film, except maybe, the visual effects, of course. At times I found myself thinking: 'Man, transformers really do exist', but thats about it, I could dig, and still wouldnt find any more qualities. Terrible would summarize my experience, and its way too freaking long.

Huge disappointment after the first one. The only thing that saved this movie from getting a 1 was the numerous over the top Megan Fox running, and bending over scenes. The story was bad. The ending was worse. The "fighting" scenes were often and impossible to follow. It was much less accurate to the comic books than the first movie was. All in all, not a good movie.
| 4/10 | kurtiskeith@ - 8 reviews 19.10.2009 - age: 18-25 |
For boys under 12, this movie is great, but that's all. The elements that made Transformers 1 a superior film, were missed here. Of course there are fantastic special effects but that's all. If you like seeing gigantic robots constantly fighting, then this one is for you, otherwise, just stay away.

Too long, attempts at humour were embarrassingly bad. Action and effects were good but everything else was weak.
| 5/10 | veyron@ - 10 reviews 6.10.2009 - age: 18-25 |
Go see it if you want to watch Megan fox around. Other than that the first one was phenomenal and this one just kind of fizzled.

If you grew up on the original series like I did it's a fair movie. A far cry from the animated movie from 86 but not bad. F/x heavy all action little dialogue. The women charectors were weak at best. Lame atemps at comedy. Poorly done slapstick.

I thought this movie was the best I had seen this year. Way better than the first and way funnier. If your debating whether to or not, see it! It is sooo good.
| 10/10 | cassiebrewis@ - first review 26.9.2009 - age: 13-17 |
They definitely made up for the dissapointment of the first one by fixing the two main problems: More Robots, More Action. That's what people want in a transformers movie, and looks like they figured it out in time for the sequel. Most of the humour was a little 'bleh', especially the two 'ethnic joke' robots, but they didn't take away too much from an otherwise enjoyable film.

Let's just say explosions (trees don't need to explode :P) and random gunshooting coould have been less. It did drag on a bit at times. There also could have been a better story line.

Awesome movie. Action was pretty sweet. Some of the "comedy" was a bit pointless but the movie was pretty good. The ending was Waaayyy to long. There were some things that contradicted itself but I can't wait for the sequel.

A movie thats isnt worth watching. It was targeted towards teens and the action was ok. The acting was so bad it was hard to watch and it didn't even come close to comparing to transformers 1. If your older then 15 dont bother it was pathetic.
| 3/10 | adamgunn6@ - 2 reviews 30.8.2009 - age: 26-35 |
I enjoyed it equally to the first film. I still think the transformations are to scrambled and really cover up that the current technology just can't make it look smooth yet. Or at least they didn't try hard enough. The ending was WAY too long and dragged, but I still enjoyed the film.
| 6/10 | mortaric@ - 45 reviews 29.8.2009 - age: 26-35 |
Shockingly, painfully bad. There's about 40 seconds of battle footage that I'd like to see again, and 2 hours 30 minutes I wish I could scrub from my brain. The performance of the Mom character was deeply embarrassing.

It wasn't as bad as everyone said it was. Yes, there was a lot more action and noise than one could take but it is an action movie, and we all know they're not the most realistic out there. It wasn't the best storyline or dialogue but I found it to be somewhat entertaining. Not nearly as good as the first one though.
