X-Men: First Class

What was I expecting when I walked into this movie? Well I am already a huge fan of the director, Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake and Kick-Ass were both really kick-ass) Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy are both excellent actors, both of whom were in my favourite tv series, Band of Brothers. Fassbender in particular is a fantastic choice, in my opinion. A cast of relatively unknowns is always an interesting choice and I like to see who the new faces are. Kevin Bacon as the villain? Yes please. Bryan Singer returning to the franchise as a writer/producer is a great thing. Suffice it to say my expectations for this film were pretty high before I even saw a trailer [...]. When I walked out of this movie, I am happy to say that my expectations were lived up to. Really well written story. Great characters. Cool action. Awesome cameos from quite a few of actors, some in roles that you might not have expected to see in this film. Basically, I loved this latest X-Men film, and I can't wait to see if they have a follow-up using these characters and actors. I think I will try and get another viewing at the theatres again soon (and I'm poor right now, so that means a lot)
