Spielberg does great with movies dealing with aliens as he should since he is a "believer". This movie fairs no differently. Spielberg is able to keep the tension building as he has in previous movies such as JAWS or JURASSIC PARK. Tom Cruise proves once again that he can act. This 2 time Oscar nominee does a great job in this movie running from the aliens while trying to keep the subplot of couch dad active. There are just 2 elements that may turn off some viewers. One: Tim Robbins, although a great actor, should not have been in this movie. His role was ridiculous and came off as "We have extra film and Tim wants to be in this scene". The end also reaks of Hollywood executives having the final say. I was also surprised that Spielberg would use elements of the 1950's classic in his designs. I enjoyed this movie and the nail marks in my wrists indicate that my wife enjoyed it too..
