When this movie came out, I was 16, and I remember leaving the theatre not overly impressed, but not disappointed. It all happened so fast and there was a lot to take in. But over the years I found myself watching this movie periodically and finding a lot of respect for it. It was fun, and I've noticed that lots movies over the years have tried reach the bar it set with its extravagance. Some of the special effects were not too convincing, but one could claim that the vision of the creation outweighed the cinematographic abilities of the time. And who says cliche's are a bad thing, especially when the movie doesn't take itself too seriously. A good movie for the kids, and young teens, or even a summer-night with some popcorn and beverage.
