Poor remake that wasted top actors in trying to fill a top movie cowboy - John Wayne - shoes. All actors were very good but same old script hampered their talents. The young lady that filled in for actress Kim Darby this time ----- was a 10. She was as good and possible better in most scenes that required stand out acting ability. Again, for Spielberg the back drops were poorly done and burred at times and sound quality was lacking that recording of wordage was annoying at time - what was mister Bridges trying to say? However, John Wayne, Kim Darby and Glen Campell would have been proud to be honored with this remake. It shows they were better and even 40 plus years later with the best actors, funding, these orginal was near perfect. This vision is a 10 due to effort, younger viewers not seeing orginal and introduction of a new young lady that soon will be a big star. Ok posse let get soda and popcorn and go see 2010 remake of a classic.
