Tiger Eyes

The movie was certainly well made on a very tight budget I presume. The evolution of the friendship with wolf and that with her aunt and uncle and their different views ultimately culminating with her aunt admitting "I admire your courage Davey, I really do" as an admission of that which she wished she had had at some point in her life really translates beautifully. The setting of Los Alamos as this naked terrain of rocks and dirt and mountains creates a nice metaphoric backdrop to the picture. Willa Holland which most people know from "gossip girl" or "the arrow" does a great job at being a very private yet rebellious teenager yet displaying a sense of wisdom and strength that even her family seems exceeded by. All in all she is certainly someone that could evolve in a great character actress. Here's hoping that's what she's aiming for. As it is an independent movie and not an entertainment piece I give it a 7 out of 10. However, readers familiar with Blume's novel will most likely find the wonders of the story and characters brought to life quite faithfully and will certainly find their pleasure seeing it.
