    The Wrestler

Raw my foot! Low budget & poor quality production values are at the center of this visual mess. Mr. Rouke's recently botched plastic surgery does prevent him from delivering a performance that is visually believable. One cannot help but feel as if they are watching Joan Rivers' in a bad Hulk Hogan hair weave. Miss Tomei gives a good supporting performance but not one that will justify the price of admission.

I truly think you are the minority on the review side - sounds like your "2" was a bit drastic given all the others... unless of course you are some awesome critic, like skating, they should throw out the low marks at the end of the average.

I would take this review a bit more seriously had I not also noticed you gave "The Stepford Wives" a 9/10.

Your review should not be taken seriously for several reasons. One of which is your comment regarding low budget and poor quality. This is a misinterpretation of Darren Aronofsky’s style. This is an independent movie with an independent feel. It is not a glossy, multi-million dollar budget, which is a good thing. Anyone who is a fan of a real-looking and feel to a movie will enjoy this film. This is why some of the top critics around the world have called The Wrestler the best movie of the year. It feels and looks like a documentary more than it does a movie. Go watch another Pixar movie.

I have to agree with the OP. The movie sucked. The low budget/documentary style is a gimmick.
