The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

I had read 'The Hobbit' and my boyfriend had read 'Lord of the Rings'. It's a good thing too, or we would not have enjoyed the movie as much without this background information. I think this very grand movie could easily be enjoyed by one who has no knowledge of the background of the story, but it would be difficult. The 2 guys we went with had no knowledge of the background and were bored and found the movie too long and the ending too sudden. They felt like they wasted 3 hours and didn't even get an ending. But I really liked the movie and the plot, setting, costumes, effects, sound and acting were wonderful. Can't wait for the second one! ~tammy.
