Well at first I was intrigued by all the bad reviews so I went to check it out. The first thing that strikes me here is why would Mr Night S. associate himself with a movie that's 1) not his own original material and 2) targeted at a much younger audience than his other movies were. So why did he do an adaptation of a children's series? Makes no sense to me. That was his biggest mistake to date. People going to see his movies want a nice dramatic thriller that's targeted at a broad audience. This movie is none of those things. That being said, the movie itself is fine for what it is. A children's action-series like i've seen many in my days. The acting was decent, the martial arts were admirable and so where the special effects. I didn't find the acting to be as bad as some mentioned here. So all in all the movie was what it is : a nickleodeon series come to life with nice specialfx. But it is a NICKLEODEON movie and that's where many people make the mistake of assuming that an Mr. Night S. movie would be ok for them : It isn't! So for children that are a fan of the series/novel, go see it, it won't disappoint, for others :stay away, its probably not what you are looking. 7/10 for children & fans of the series 4/10 for everyone else 6/10 average.

It's actually the opposite. Fans of the series are disappointed; the movie cuts out everything that made it good. It's not disappointing because it's a Nickelodeon cartoon, it's disappointing because it's very poor COMPARED to the cartoon.
