The Inn of the Sixth Happiness

This story of a British maid Gladys Aylward (Ingrid Bergman) who believes she is destined to be a missionary in China is as inspirational a movie as they come. After many obstacles, her landing and work in China become legendary especially during Japan's invasion of China. Kurt Jurgen gives a good performance as a military officer and Robert Donat, in somewhat feeble health, gives his last performance on screen. Athene Seyler is splendid in a small role as a missionary, the one responsible for giving Gladys Aylward refuge on her arrival in China.
