Good acting and a decent script with its own share of trickery make this a pleasant movie-going experience. Certainly C. G. I. Effects aid in making the Illusionist's trickery seem plausible. Still, how much you enjoy the film may depend upon how good an illusionist the screenwriter has been in your particular case. In any event it's always worthwhile seeing actors the calibre of Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti do their thing.
