This movie was solid. When there have been SO many war movies it's hard to do anything new and while I don't think there is any spectacular revelation in Hurt Locker, it is just different enough and well-paced that I enjoyed it a lot. There were two scenes that dragged on a little too much but it's forgivable. I was very surprised to see the director was a women because this is usually guy-oriented stuff. Camera work was at times downright brilliant, and music/sounds were excellent. Acting was very adequate and some of the action scenes were really superb. Maybe the only thing you could knock is the story line which is fairly rehashed. Like I said I enjoyed it and so did my wife. We wished we could have seen it on the big screen for full impact.
