    The Fortune Cookie

An uproarious comedy from brilliant Billy wilder. It is not one of his great films but it is truly entertaining and at times it's uproarious. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau again co-star, the two making quite a few films together. Though Jack Lemmon is ostensibly the lead, Walter Matthau outshines him at every turn as a shady lawyer without an ounce of scruples and went on to win the Best Supporting Actor in 1966 for The Fortune Cookie. I wouldn't classify this blatant attempt to cheat the insurance business a romantic comedy. Too many other pressing issues take centre stage.
