    The Dark Knight Rises

I had the pleasure of going to see "The Dark Knight Rises" on its opening day, and all I can say is that it was an unforgettable cinematic experience, much to my surprise and delight. The movie exceeded my expectations in terms of action, and entertainment. It's everything you could ever want it to be... an exciting, awe-struck, and adrenaline pumping adventure. The story is very well told... engrossing, with many twists that will undoubtedly throw you for a loop, but will hold your curiousity and attention throughout. This film featured outstanding performances, by all the cast. Christian Bale, as always is stupendous as Batman, and I felt that Bruce Wayne was more heavily embraced in this final installment. Bale added emotional depth to the character. With "The Dark Knight", I didn't really see this as much, but it picks up from the development in "Batman Begins" where it all took place. As for Anne Hathaway I thought she was completely mesmerizing, she became "Catwoman", just like Michele Pfeiffer did, although their renditions were quite different, both were equally effective. Tom Hardy as Bane was quite simply, terrifying. His performance stupefied me. Of course Hardy doesn't surpass Heath Ledger's iconic brilliant portrayal as the "Joker", but he does a notable job of being a redoubtable foe and criminal mastermind. Definitely Bane's intimidation and physical dominance sent a few shivers down my spine, though the "Joker" scared me more than any other villain put together. Also, Marion Cotillard, Michael Cane, Gary Oldman, and others all did well in their respective roles. The editing, sound, score, visuals, and direction in this picture are simply phenomenal. I did however, find the film a little longer than I liked it to be, but it was never dull for a second which was a good thing. All the action sequences are spectacularly well created and very intense. There is great dialogue between the characters which is very convincing. The movie's soundtrack is wonderful and heightens the mood for many of the movie's scenes. So, in a nutshell, it was time well spent going to see this amazing production. In conclusion," The Dark Knight Rises" connects all the dots from its predecessors and brings the series to a satisfying close. The ending comes as a real surprise. It certainly wasn't what I expected, but wow, it was good nonetheless. I must say this film wasn't quite as incredible as "The Dark Knight" but it comes pretty close. Again, Christopher Nolan has succeeded in making an impressionable trilogy come to life, and what is now the most captivating take off on the "batman" to ever grace the big screen. A MUST-SEE for everyone.
