Please be careful before you go see this. Not for everyone, but I have a feeling that most women will like it. This movie is perfectly cut out for Forrest Whitaker, he does well with characters that all through the movie go through feelings of desperation. We've seen it before. He is got a naturally sad face and many sad expressions, and it's what is needed here. The acting is good, the story is long and slow. For me, Oprah doesn't add any positive elements, in fact some scenes could have been edited and more attention given to other more interesting things that were happening. The Presidents so so, 50% are good the rest really bad. Perhaps they should have used the same actors that successfully played those Presidents in the past. I am sorry I went (mind you I didn't like Roots either); however, objectively speaking, the movie is good and worth seeing.
